Downloading source code problems

Aug 14, 2013 at 3:19 PM
I'm a beginner using SVN for development, in fact never done it. When I download the code and try to open the project with VS2010 Professional, I get a prompt to enter a user name and password. If I enter my CodePlex credentials it says I don't have access, if I hit ESC the project doesn't load the files.
I tried to read more about SVN stuff and I'm not sure what is my problem or how to fix this. Downloading the files through the web site or SVN gets me the same problem.
Any help will be appreciated.

Just click cancel when prompted to login to tfs. You can still compile source fine! Hope that helps.

Thanks for responding.
If I click Cancel, it says the project will opened Offline, click OK and when finished the project explorer doesn't show any files, just a message that says "This project is incompatible with the current version of Visual Studio.

I am using VS2010 Standard V.10.040219.1 SP1Rel. in Win 7. I also tried the VS2010 Ultimate version with same result.

I did write the code in Visual Studio 2012... sorry!

It'll only be the solution file that's not compatible, you should be able to copy the code files into a VS2010 solution if you create one. Either that or download VS2012 Express, it will run side-by-side with 2010.

Using VS2012 worked.
